8月6日，盘州市梓木戛煤矿发生一起煤与瓦斯突出事故。8月8日， 事故现场抢险救援基本结束，事故死亡13人，为今年首起煤矿重大事故。
救援结束，舆情未了，8月9日，应急管理部将对贵州省六盘水市盘州市梓木戛煤矿“8·6”煤与瓦斯突出事故进行挂牌督办。8月14日，国务院安委会办公室对贵州省六盘水市盘州市梓木戛煤矿“8·6”重大煤与瓦斯突出事故进行了通报。8月18日，国务院安委会办公室约谈贵州省六盘水市。
